SYSTEM OVERVIEW.

OSAL-PH has been designed for use in TV control rooms, dubbing studios or any other application in which the audio and video monitoring at the same time is needed, because it superimposes the scale in the original video signal.

The stereo audio level is displayed on screen, over a picture or a blue background internally generated, when the video signal fails, as two vertical black and white bars placed on the left and rigth sides of a dB calibrated scale.

One arrow over each bar indicates, for a few seconds, the maximun peak level reached by the signal. The same arrows on top of the scale and pointing upwards or in the bottom of the scale and pointing downwards indicate out of range level.

It is possible to programme five characters, under this scale, for signal identification purposes.

The out of phase angle is displayed as an horizontal bar below the level scale from 0° to 180° reading in steps of 30°.

The 5 selectable possitions on the screen allowes to display several scales onto the same screen (f. ex.: one by language).

The minimun audio level and out of phase alarms get displayed on a red background for a few seconds and are defined and enabled by the user.

The system is housed in a 19 inches (3U) cabinet, that can place up to 16 OSAL-PH inserters.
